I absolutely adored doing this newborn baby photo shoot in Cheltenham recently. This little guy was just 10 days old and we caught photos of him fast asleep and wide awake. Let me talk you through some of the images I took for this family and their new little baby.
Is there anything cuter than baby toes?
The parents told me that they particularly wanted lots of detail shots so they’d never forget just how tiny those fingers and toes are so I really focused on photographing those little details.
And don’t forget those tiny hands too!
I love the way babies are so expressive with their hands - outstretched as they’re sleeping or wrapped tightly around your finger for comfort.
All these photos were taken in one place in the family home in Cheltenham, where the natural light was good and everyone felt at ease.

It’s so true when they say that time goes by in the blink of an eye
Suddenly your baby’s hands won’t get lost inside yours;
Suddenly your baby’s toes are finding their way into school shoes;
Suddenly that fluffy hair you stroked for hours is tied in a plait
Suddenly tiny lips are smeared with pureed apple sauce and biscuit crumbs
Suddenly their face has changed and you no longer see the baby but the little person they are becoming. That is why photos like these are so precious - they pause time forever and keep those memories safe.
